A lifeguard on a Northcott beach in Cornwall. Tide just coming in. A tribute to these guys who would put their life at risk to save somebody elses.
This place was so full of colour, red cliffs, sea, sand... so this painting is all about that. I loved the atmosphere of this beach in Devon.
I am always mesmerized be the translucency and different colours of the sea waves. This painting is capturing such a moment at a Widemouth Bay at Cornwall. I could have used much stronger colours to emphasize but wanted to stick to how I saw it at that moment. The peaceful moment, watching the waves coming towards the beach again and again, splishing and splashing and playin with the light.
I was absolutely capture by this atmospheric landscape, where my husband took me as a surprise. Landscape that's hardy and wind-beaten but so beautiful. This is a first one of a series of painting from Exmoor. More about this painting and Exmoor.
